How is coaching done?
Typically, individual coaching is done by telephone. Clients can tailor an ideal pattern for working with their coach. Some assessments and goal-setting are performed during the first session. Four to six months is the average span of a coaching relationship. A single coaching session can range from ½ hour to 1.5 hours and the frequency of sessions is typically once every week or two.
Is coaching therapy?
Coaching is not therapy. You will find that coaching focuses on personal growth and does not attempt to heal emotional trauma. Therapy often focuses on childhood pain, whereas coaching focuses on your strengths in the present, and how you want to show up now and into the future.
What is a typical session like?
The hallmark of coaching is self-responsibility. The client sets the agenda for the call and the coach follows that agenda. You can expect powerful and clarifying questions, focused and fine-tuned planning tools, and accountability. Your coach will have high expectations of you and support you thoroughly.
